Recap of NYSS at Tioga Sunday, 6-21.
The first day of NYSS racing from Tioga Downs proved to be an exciting one. The racing and wagering kept us here at "The Stretch Drive" on the edge of our seats. We spent the night squeezing home some much needed winners. Tim Tetrick had a very productive day in the bike, leading all drivers with three wins.
The 5th race was the NYSS 3YO Filly Trot with a purse of $55,000. Love A Good Story, with Andy Miller went off the betting favorite and went wire to wire in 1:53 to take home the easy victory. In the 8th, The Roll With Joe Open Pacing Stake with a purse of $164,000, Backstreet Shadow went a very impressive mile winning in 1:49. The driver trainer combo of Tetrick and Burke was too much to handle for the favorite, Bettor's Wish, who went a brutal mile but still managed to get up for 3rd at the wire.
It was our handicappers first time releasing picks for these NYSS races and picking races like this can be very tough. But Mike and Pauly came through again picking a total of 10 winners in this 13 race card at Tioga Downs. Mike gave us the winner of race 4, Workin Ona Mystery, who paid $6.50 to win. He also gave out the exacta key which came back at $21.80. In race 7, Mike picked the winner, Charlotte Chaplin, and gave you the ex and tri keys which paid handsomely at $55.50 and $175.48. PC's picks started the card with a $12.60 winner in the 1st race. Reciprocalbluechip basically went wire to wire for the easy victory. Pauly also gave out the early double of 2-5, picking the 5, Always On The Hunt for second in the 2nd race. The double paid great at $75.50. What a great start for the crew. In race 8, Pauly gave out the tri and super box. He picked 3-6-4-2 and the race finished 4-6-3-2. We hope everyone boxed these numbers because the super came back huge. $582.50 for a $1 ticket. Those are just some highlights of our successful picks at Tioga on Sunday. Check our past blog to see all of our picks and how we did. We'll be back in the next couple days to cover Wednesday races at Buffalo. And the NYSS are also back from Vernon Downs on Wednesday!!
