Recap Wed. 6-24 Buffalo and NYSS at Vernon
What a night of racing at "The Stretch Drive" simulcast center. We had racing on the TV and two laptops from 4pm - 11:30pm. There's never enough action. Let's start with some highlights from NYSS racing at Vernon Downs. Jason Bartlett and Scott Zeron each won two of the stakes races respectively. Zeron won NYSS 3 year old colts and geldings 2nd division and it's $58,000 purse. Berkery J, trained by George Ducharme got the W in 1:54.2 and paid $13.60 to win. In race 6, the 3 year old colts and geldings 1st division, the Ake Svanstedt entry picked up the win and the $59,000 purse. Also driven by Ake, Third Shift won the race in a time of 1:54.3. Mike and PC managed to give us four combined winners on the night. They both picked Third Shift to win the 6th race, which he did easily. There wasn't much money to be made overall today at Vernon Downs, so we moved on to Buffalo Raceway for the night cap.
At Buffalo Raceway, Ray Fisher Jr. and Billy Davis Jr. both had three wins on the card. In the 12th, the A-OPEN HDCP, Bred For Greatness went wire to wire with driver Kevin Cummings. Lougazi was flying late but Bred For Greatness managed to hang on for the win by a head in one of the most exciting races of the night. Bred For Greatness went off 6-1, great odds for a horse that's won 7 out of 8 starts this year. Our cappers again had a pretty successful night at Buffalo, combing for nine wins on the card. PC gave out the cold exacta in race 6, the 1-6 combo paid $9.60, not bad for the chalks. He also gave the cold tri in race 7. The 1-2-6 trifecta paid $19, which again isn't that bad considering the the favorites were top three. Mike's picks gave out 5 winners on the night, including Hereyago in race 3. He also had the ex and tri key which paid $13.80 and $42.40. Mike also the ex and tri key in race 2. The 1, Barn Winner paid $4 to win, and the ex and tri paid $17.20 and $68.50.
Overall it was another awesome night of racing. We had a few winners, made a little money, and had a ton of fun in "The Stretch Drive" simulcast center. Thanks for watching along with us, and be sure to keep following us on twitter. Get the money.
