Batavia Downs recap from Wed., 8-26.
The Stretch Drive watched and wagered from the Batavia Downs Hotel on Wednesday night, and once again, if you have the chance to watch from a hotel suite, we highly recommend it. The rooms are great and the view of the races is even better. Since this is the only way to watch at Batavia Downs right now, give it a shot.
It was another strong 13 race card at Batavia Downs. And another great night in the bike for David Mcneight III. Mcneight led all drivers with three wins on the night, including a very impressive mile from Blue Bell Bonnie. Bonnie sat the 2 hole to the very sharp Lyra (Morrill Jr.), and got up for a pretty easy win in 1:55. Blue Bell Bonnie paid $12.80. Lyra was the beaten favorite, and finished second. The leading trainer of the night was Jennifer Giuliani. She really seems to be heating up the past couple of weeks.
Now let's get to the action. Mike and PC hit some nice payouts on Wednesday night. Mike had four winners and PC hit six winners. PC started the night with a winner and exacta key in the first race. The 2-1 exacta paid $29. A very strong exacta. Then Mike took his turn. He picked the winner and exacta cold in race 2. Pukka won and paid $11, and the 2-1 ex came back a huge $79. Can't start the night too much better than that. The guys both had the winner of race 4, Whosurpapa. It was also Mike's best bet. Mike stayed hot and hit the SUPER cold in race 6. This was also his Longshot pick of the night. Blue Bell Bonnie won and paid $12. The tri paid $84 and the super paid $113. Nice score for the boys. PC then gave out the 8th and 9th race double COLD. The 7-2 DD paid $10.80.We'd also like to mention that PC's longshot pick, Before I Die, caught a nightmare trip in the 12th race and was still closing late for a nice third place finish. This is one to watch for again next week.
Please check all our picks again to see how we did for the overall night. It was another night in the black for The Stretch Drive. Also, please contact us on Facebook if your interested in our new t-shirts. Thanks again for following along. Get the money!
