Batavia Downs recap, Wed., August 5.

Wednesday was another exciting night of racing at Batavia Downs.  Our crew was lucky enough to be watching from the balcony suite at the hotel once again.  We can't say enough about how much we love watching from the hotel, and we plan on being there as much as possible.  Just like Jim Morrill Jr. likes being in the winners circle as much as possible.  He had a monster night on Wednesday, leading all drivers with five wins.

Race 7 - Pace - Fillies and Mares OPEN I - $9,000
Blacknsweet Adda A (Morrill Jr.) and HP Sissy (Bucceri) left from the 2 and 4 hole to line up first and second.  But Gia's Surreal (Cummings Jr.), the race favorite, made a quick move to the front at the 1/4 pole in 28.1.  Bucceri pulled HP Sissy first over as they got to the 1/2 in 57.  Gia lead to the 3/4 pole in 1:25, a 28 second 3rd quarter, and pulled away around the turn, going on to win by three lengths in 1:54.4.  Carly Girl and Protect Blue Chip closed late to be 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Mike and PC had another good night with their selections, combining for 14 total winners.  Once again, both guys Best Bets made a trip to the winners circle.  PC started the card right, picking the exacta box in the first.  The 8-3 combo paid $50.  A huge price for a Morrill Jr. and Billy Davis Jr. exacta.  He also picked the exacta cold in race 4.  Bands Ariston won and the 6-4 ex paid $9.80.  Mike and PC were both all over race 6, picking the winner, Race With Grace, and they both had the tri and super key.  Mike also picked the winner of race 9, Mighty Nicky ($7.80), and had the ex and tri key.  The ex paid $29.20 and the tri paid $78.  Please go back and check our selections blog to see the rest of the guys picks.  We'll be back with our Saturday selections for Batavia Downs.
