Recap of Batavia Downs from Wed., 8-19.

The Stretch Drive had another great night watching live racing from Batavia Downs.  We once again watched from the Hotel balcony, right after we interviewed Batavia Downs trainer, Maria Rice.  We'd like to thank Maria for stopping by and giving some great info to our followers.  If you haven't seen the interview, please check The Stretch Drive Facebook page to watch it.

Maria Rice went on to send three of her horses to the winners circle on Wednesday, leading all trainers.  She took home the victory in the 7th race, Open I-II Handicap Trot with Noble Legend, the 8th race, Fillies and Mares Open II-III Handicap Pace with Protect Blue Chip, and the 11th race Open II-III Trot with The Stretch Drive crew favorite, Keystone Apache.  Well done Maria!!  Billy Davis Jr. also had three wins, as he was in the bike for all three of Rice's winners.  Jim Morrill Jr. tied Davis with three wins also.  Morrill and trainer, Gerry Sarama got to the winners circle in the Fillies and Mares Open I-II Pace with the super impressive mare, TOOTHOFTHEDRAGON.

PC and Mike really had a good night, and so did the crew.  They combined for 12 winners on the card, especially catching fire starting in race 7.  If you follow closely, which you should be, you could have hit a very nice double in races 4 and 5.  The double combo of 7-1 paid a whopping $1,102.  PC's picks had both winners picked to be second.  So if you bet double wheels you could've nailed this one.  PC then went on to pick the late pick 4 cold.  He picked the winner in races 7-10.  The $2 pick 4 paid $306.  Race 9 was the best part, Before I Die won and paid $42.80.  What a pick by PC.  Mike also did his best work late.  His Best Bet, Protect Blue Chip won race 8 and paid $3.10.  Mike also had the ex, tri and super key in the race.  The super came back nicely at $54.  He also had the winner is races 10-12, and the ex and tri key in race 11.  The 1-7 ex paid $10 and the tri paid $15.  Please go back and check our picks and the results to see just how good the guys picked this whole card.
